Today’s question comes from Anil Kumar, star quizzer and my ‘corporate team’ mate! Originally from Hyderabad, he has been a QFI regular for the last four years after having moved here on work.
Identify both the players and connect.
Salvatore Schillaci (Visual 1) was nicknamed ‘Toto’. Sebastien Squillaci (Visual 2) has a surname which sounds like ‘Schillaci’, as a result of which, he also has been nicknamed ‘Toto’.
Cracked by 11 people! In order – zizzyphus, Thomas Masun, Srini, Atul Mathew, RacerX, yabber, Raghuvansh, shafeek, aamaadmi, Sharath, and Thejaswi Udupa.
Italy’s Salvatore ”Toto” Schillaci and
France’s Sebastien Squillaci.Squillaci’s nickname is ‘Toto’ named after the italian legend.
1)
2)Sebastien Squillaci is all that I can identify the connect probably is regarding the way they took their respective teams to Champions league Finals…..Pure guess
Dear Uncle:
The top visual Uncle is Salvatore Schillaci, nicknamed Toto. At the bottom, we see former Lyonnais player, now with Sevilla, a guy named Sebastian Squillaci. Now, there is really no connection between the two per se. But because Squillaci SOUNDS like Schillaci (to some people), his nickname (to some people) also become Toto.
In a freak of nature, this band (to some people) was later nicknamed Salvatore Schillaci:

Kind regards,
Thomas Masun
Visual 2 is Sebastien Squillachi, whose nickname is “Toto” Becoz his surname resembles Toto Schillachi (visual 1)
1-Salvatore “Toto” Schillaci
2-Sebastien Squillaci also nicknamed Toto
Sebastien(2) gets his nickname from Toto Schillaci(1)
Pic 1- Salvatore Schillaci, former Italian player who won the Golden Boot in the 1990 WC.
Pic2- Sebastien Squillaci, French defender.
Connect- Both have the nickname ‘Toto’ .
Would you believe it – Yesterday only I was thinking of putting an id question on Salvatore Schillaci in my blog after some time. And you pip me to it! The connection is “Toto” which was the nickname of WC 90 wonder, Schillaci and is also the nickname of Sébastien Squillaci who got it because of the similarity in the surname.
Visual 1 is Salvatore Schillaci a.k.a Toto. I don’t know the name of the person in the second visial but I am guessing the connect is Toto, the nickname given to Schillaci during Italia 90, where he also scored 6 goals overall.
Salvatore “Toto” Schillaci of Italy and Sebastien Squillaci of France. The latter bears the same nickname as the former, for obvious reasons.
Salvotore Schillaci & Sebastian Squillaci.
Both nicknamed ‘Toto’
Dont know the person in the 2nd visual but 1 is Salvatore Schillaci. I think the connection is the “Golden Boot” with 6 goals
Salvatore Schillachi and Sebastien Squillaci.
Don’t know any connect apart from the similar sounding names
Is “Toto” the connection? Salvatore Schillaci’s nickname…
Toto
Salvatore Schillachi & Sebastien Squillaci are nicknamed Toto
Schilacci and someone. Is it something to do with scoring goals way past extra time?
Visual 1 is of Salvatore Schillaci aka Toto Schillaci .
Visual 2 is of Sebastien Squillaci, plays for Lyon,
and got his nickname of Toto, named after Salvatore Schillaci
Sebastien Squillaci (pic 2) is nicknamed ‘Toto’ after Salvatore Schillaci (pic 1)
Connect – Squillaci
a. Salvatore Schillaci
I was born in 1930. My parents were of Italian ancestry. As a child my father called me Toto.
I have tried to find out if Toto is a nickname or has some meaning or its derivation. Can anyone give me an answer?
